Our easy measuring guide
At Still & Bloom, we understand that it can be difficult sometimes to visualise online furniture in your own space, especially when it comes down to which size to choose! Each home is unique and special in its own way (just like our furniture!) but there are some things you can do to help find the best option before you order.
We've put together a helpful guide below, full of easy tips and tricks, to help make sure you find the size that's right for your space and guarantee there are no unhappy surprises when your new furniture arrives!
1. Clear the space
Once you've identified where you want your new furniture to go, clear the space of any existing furniture or objects.
2. Measure up
Carefully read through the dimensions of the product you like, taking note of the length, depth and height. (All of these dimensions are available in the individual product listings)
Using masking tape and a tape measure, create the shape and size of the product you like on the floor.
When choosing a size, try to consider the sizes of the furniture you already have in your space (such as sofas, chairs, plant pots etc.).
3. Create volume
Now that you have a 2D shape marked out on the floor, it's time to add volume!
Use objects from around your house to fill the space until you reach the height of the product you're interested in.
Books, cushions, pillows and boxes are just a few of the common household objects that our customers have found useful!
4. Test the space
Now you've replicated the volume of the product, test the space for yourself.
Use the space as you typically would. Walking and sitting in close proximity will let you know if you need to adjust the size. For example, if you find yourself walking into the taped out area, it might suggest a smaller size is needed!
5. Custom sizes
If you've followed the steps above, but find the sizes on our website aren't quite right, don't panic, we can easily customise the size to fit your needs.
If you think you may need a custom size, just give us a call or send us a message and we can help you through the process!
