Developed specially for use on our outdoor furniture, we use only the highest quality all natural exterior oils. Made from sustainable ingredients & completely free from toxins or harmful substances. They are designed for coating over the existing finish on your Still & Bloom garden furniture to keep it maintained and protected from the elements or to give it a new lease of life annually. Our Exterior Oil penetrates deep into the timber to create a water repellent surface that provides excellent protection against harsh weather conditions.

Instructions

Preparation:

When applying over our existing finish trialing with a test area first is essential. Ensure your table or bench surface is scrubbed or sanded clean to remove any algae, mildew, dirt or dust. Our exterior oils are slightly transparent so the wood surface should ideally be sanded to remove any discolored timber. Also any peeling or flaking to the existing finish must be removed!

The timber should also be nice and dry prior to application.

It is important to purchase enough product to complete the entire item. When more than one tin is required it is advisable to mix them together before use.

It is essential that you test the finish on a trial area prior to full application.

Application:

Stir tin thoroughly.

Apply using a good quality synthetic brush. We recommend a 3inch wide brush for the top and a smaller brush of the intricate details on the base. Apply using smooth strokes in the direction of the grain being careful not to overbrush as this will leave brush marks. Also please do not apply too thicker coat at one time.

Apply between air temperatures of 9deg and 21 deg.

Apply 1st coat to dry for at least 12hrs before applying the 2nd coat. (A 3rd coat can be applied after a further 12 hrs if necessary).

Allow final coat to dry for at least 24hrs before use.

Coverage examples: (may vary slightly depending on condition of timber)

1L will cover 1 Coast dining table up to 200cm L with 2 coats.

1L will cover 1 Coast dining table up to 150cm L + 1 bench up to 150cm L with 2 coats.
